If you’ve ever grown mint, you know it grows and spreads very quickly. It’s so prolific that it’s recommended you plant them in a container to keep them from spreading. If you have such a prolific plant, mint iced tea is a cool and refreshing drink that you can make all Summer long.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves (plus extra for garnish)
- 2–3 tablespoons honey (or sweetener of choice)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil water
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or teapot. - Steep mint
Remove from heat. Add water to mint leaves. Let steep for 5–7 minutes. - Sweeten
Remove tea bags and mint. Stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm. Let it cool. - Chill
Pour into a pitcher and refrigerate. - Serve
Serve over ice with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices (if desired).
